Trust and Estate Planning

What is estate planning?

Estate planning includes assessing the best options for handling your property in the event of your incapacity or death. A basic estate plan would include a simple will or a trust, a living will and power of attorney. You can also leave instructions for distribution of personal property. Various types of trusts are available depending upon your unique circumstances, which are discussed in more detail below.

What type of estate plan do you need?

Individuals’ estate planning needs vary depending upon their stage in life, the type of assets they have and other concerns. For example, we can discuss the best way to transfer a family business, protect funds for college costs or whether to set up a special needs trust. We can help you address your priorities through a flexible, targeted estate plan.

The Process

Please contact our firm and we will send to you a secure intake form in which you can identify your assets and priorities. Upon receipt of the intake form, we will schedule a free 20-minute consultation to give you an idea of how we can help you devise an estate plan. Our experienced attorneys will discuss documents you may need to complete your estate plan.

What will it cost?

The cost will depend upon the complexity of documents for your estate plan. For example, a simple will would start at $300.00, whereas a more complex trust would start at $1,000.00. Our attorneys can give you an estimate of the suggested estate plan during the initial consultation.
